new PTSD treatment

To treat PTSD disorder, first the symptoms of the disease must be carefully examined; Then, a certain treatment plan should be prepared in order to improve the continuation of the person's life after the accident.

The main treatment includes online or face-to-face psychotherapy, drug therapy, or the simultaneous use of both methods. Treatment is different according to the type of accident, symptoms and needs of people. With the help of mental health professionals, it is possible to live a more balanced and efficient life. In some people, various treatment methods should be used in order to find the right solution.

If the person has been abused, first of all, the feeling of security should be provided to the patient; Therefore, before starting PTSD treatment, the injured person should be removed from the crisis situation. In people who have other disorders such as panic disorder, depression, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, treatment focuses on eliminating these symptoms.

PTDS treatment strategies

Introducing the dangers of PTDS, the impact of the disorder on the people around the person, and the problems related to PTSD symptoms to the survivors and their families, are among the other treatment solutions. In fact, understanding that PTSD is a well-known psychiatric disorder is particularly important in treatment methods.

Re-enacting the accident by putting the person in a similar situation or showing the relevant images, in a completely safe and controlled environment and by experts in this field, plays an important role in understanding the reaction and thoughts of the affected person.

Examining and resolving strong emotions, such as: feelings of shame, anger and guilt, which are very common among survivors, are also considered among therapeutic strategies.

Teaching how to deal with post-accident memories, reactions and emotions related to the accident and facing these emotions without affecting or shocking the victim is effective in treating symptoms. The memory of the accident will remain in the person's mind for the rest of their life, even if treated, so by learning the skills to cope with it, one can control one's emotions to a great extent.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is the best treatment for PTSD. Psychotherapy involves raising the issue with a mental health specialist so that the psychologist, with his experience, can examine the issue and evaluate the impact of the accident on the injured person. Online or face-to-face psychotherapy is done in the form of individual or group counseling, and the counseling sessions continue until the person can cope with the traumatic experience and control their behavior and emotions.

Many online or face-to-face psychotherapy methods focus directly on the symptoms of the illness. Some also examine the impact of the disorder on the occurrence of social, family or occupational problems. According to the needs of the individual, the psychotherapist chooses different treatment methods for treatment. Among the various treatment methods, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is considered the most effective treatment method, which includes the following sections:

Exposure therapy in the treatment of PTSD

In this method, the therapist helps people to become aware of the damage caused. The psychologist begins to stage the event in a completely safe environment. Recalling the memory of the accident can be in the form of creating a mental image in the person, asking to write the incident or visiting the scene of the accident. With the help of this method, the therapist teaches the PTSD person how to cope with the event.

Cognitive restructuring in the treatment of PTSD

In this treatment method, the person is helped to have real knowledge and understanding about the experience and memory he remembers from the scene of the accident. Sometimes people have an exaggerated image of the accident. These people feel guilty and ashamed without actually being guilty of an accident. Therefore, the therapist exposes what actually happened to the patient.

microdosing

Introduction of microdosing

While the experiences of taking high-dose psilocybin-containing mushrooms have been widely studied, new research has focused on a specific therapeutic approach called microdosing. Microdosing is the regular use of low doses (5 to 10% of the usual dose) of psychoactive drugs.

Microdosing of psilocybin

In the case of psilocybin, microdosing involves the use of low doses (100-300 mg of dried mushroom equivalent to 0.1-0.3 mg of pure psilocybin) at regular intervals (48-72 hours), the effects of psilocybin on the body are dose-dependent and with Increasing the dose, the person experiences various effects, these effects range from feeling sleepy at low doses to experiencing a mental journey at higher doses and then mixing the senses such as seeing sounds, hearing colors, feeling one with nature and even experiencing the feeling of the soul leaving The body can change. After the substance leaves the body, these conditions also return to normal. The amount of psilocybin used in the microdosing method does not cause changes in the perceptual aspects of the person and has no hallucinogenic effects.

This article discusses the scientific aspects of microdosing psilocybin, its effects, research findings, and potential applications.

Scientific findings about microdosing

Microdosing is a popular method among psychoactive drug users. The Global Drug Survey organization conducted a survey in 2021 among 1 million participants in 11 countries, and the results of this survey show that during this year, 16% of participants from Psilocybin has been used in the form of magic mushrooms, and 22% of people chose microdose as a method of consumption. Surveys show that people who use this method experience positive effects such as reducing anxiety, reducing depression, increasing mood and creativity as a result of microdosing.

Based on studies, it is believed that the therapeutic effects of psilocybin are caused by increasing the communication between brain cells by stimulating the cells to establish intercellular communication.

What are the advantages and benefits of microdosing psychedelic substances?

Since the advent of psychedelic substances, the scientific foundations of microdosing are being formed.

In short, due to the lack of information and long-term scientific research, we cannot make definitive claims about the effects of microdosing psychoactive substances. Most of the currently available evidence comes from consumer self-reports and systematic studies by researchers based on public surveys.

But now there is a high level of research being done that examines the short and long term benefits of microdosing psychedelic substances. Companies like MindMed are leading the way.

We've compiled a list of the main benefits commonly attributed to microdosing below:

More productivity

More access to fluid states of mind

More creativity and curiosity

Strengthen the sense of empathy and connection

Improve accuracy and focus

Increase the efficiency of the mind

Emotional well-being and better communication

More energy and coordination

Feeling more self-aware

The possibility of reducing addictive behaviors

Possibility of reducing cluster headaches

It provides a protective function on the brain and nervous system

Reducing the level of anxiety (especially existential anxiety at the end of life)

Logical awareness and problem solving

According to an online survey published in the journal Harm Reduction, the benefits of microdosing LSD or psilocybin were measured. In this review, the information of 278 people who have self-assessed the benefits they have experienced have been introduced and also ranked. In this ranking, the importance of subjective experience is evaluated on a scale from 0 to 100.

Depression treatments

Depression treatments

There is a wide range of effective evidence-based treatments for depression. These include therapy and antidepressants. What works best will be different for each person.

Your mental health professional will work with you to find the best treatment for you. You may need to try a few different ones to find the one that works best for your depression.

Getting the right help and treatment for depression is important.

There is a range of effective treatments that can help you improve/manage. Start by talking to your GP.

Important things to know about treating depression:

Different types of depression respond to different types of treatment. Before prescribing treatment, you need a thorough examination by a health professional.

Depression sometimes goes away on its own. But if left untreated, it can take months or get significantly worse. Always seek help early so you can recover sooner.

Depending on the nature of your depression, self-help and alternative therapies can be helpful. They can be used alone or in combination with physical and psychological therapies.

Most people who have had depression have been able to seek help and live an active and fulfilling life.

Factors causing depression

Depression is a multifactorial disease and several genetic and environmental factors play a role in its occurrence. First-degree relatives of depressed people are about 3 times more likely to suffer from depression than the general population. However, depression can occur in people who have no family history of depression.

Patients with neurological deterioration (especially Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease), stroke and heart attack, MS, seizure disorders, cancer and chronic pain are prone to depression.

In general, daily life events and people's concerns act as triggers for depression. Traumatic events such as the death or loss of a loved one, lack or reduction of social support, financial problems, intellectual conflicts, and interpersonal problems are examples of stressors that can cause depression.

When should we see a doctor?

Depression is a progressive disease and needs to be diagnosed quickly. Symptoms of depression are mild at first and are easily treated.

If you feel depressed, it is better to talk to experts to treat the disease in the early stages instead of ignoring it.

Don't forget that any kind of negligence in the treatment of depression will turn mild depression into severe depression and have dangerous side effects.

psilocybin half life

How Long Do Shrooms (Psilocybin) Stay in Your System?

Mushrooms stay in your system for 24 hours or longer. Their effects last up to 6 hours.

How long routine drug tests can detect the presence of shrooms in your system also varies based on the type of test. For example:

Urine tests: Most people eliminate psilocybin within 24 hours. A urine drug test won’t detect their presence for much longer than this.
Hair tests: Psilocybin is detectable for as long as 90 days.
Blood tests: It takes psilocybin about 15 hours to leave your bloodstream. This is about how long it’s detectable in blood. However, blood tests are rarely used to detect shrooms.
There are currently no reliable saliva drug tests for mushrooms.

Factors That Affect Detection Time

Factors affecting the time mushrooms stay in your system include:

Time Between Ingesting and Testing

The body eliminates mushrooms quickly. To detect mushrooms, testing must occur within 24 hours or less unless it’s a hair drug test. The sooner the test after taking mushrooms, the higher the likelihood they’ll be detected.

Half-Life

This is how long it takes for half of the mushrooms or any other drug to leave your system. The average half life of psilocybin is 3 hours.1

Mushroom Species

There are as many as 200 different species of psilocybin mushrooms. The higher the amount of hallucinogen present, the longer it remains detectable

magic mushroom

What is "psilocybin"?

After listening to Farshad's talk, I went to experts, psychologists and psychiatrists in the field of addiction to get information about my mushroom, but all of them, except for one person, refused to give information about this drug, stating that the use of this drug is not yet widespread in Iran. They evaded until Saeed Safatian, the head of the demand reduction working group in the independent anti-narcotics committee of the Expediency Council, introduced this article to us.

He said: "Mushroom" originally originated in South America, and from there it has been entering Iran for one or two years. This material is available in the market in two forms: mushroom and sheet.

According to Safatian, the scientific name of this mushroom is "psilocybin" and it is also known as magic mushroom. Mushrooms are used orally and are well absorbed through the digestive system. Even if this mushroom is dried or cooked, it will not lose its poisonous power.

The active ingredients of the mushroom stimulate the sympathetic nervous system in the body. The sympathetic system is activated in dealing with any kind of stress and emotion so that the body has the ability to deal with the situation. Heart rate and blood pressure increase, pupils dilate and facial flushing is visible. The hair on the person's body is spiky, the muscles are stiff and the body temperature increases.

The level of illusion of this drug is very high and it affects the senses as well, it is possible that the person sees his sense of sight, hearing and touch disturbed and observes things that he has not heard before, hears words from beings that do not speak.

As this addiction psychologist explains, another type of "mushroom" is in the form of small sheets of edible paper, which become hallucinogenic by rubbing mushrooms on them. These sheets also have the same properties as mushrooms and make a person hallucinate.

Variable and cheap price

Expressing his surprise at finding one of the "mushroom" users, he said: I am surprised how you found the disease with these characteristics, because so far I have not received a report from clinics and addiction treatment centers about accepting such people.

The head of the demand reduction working group in the independent anti-narcotics committee of the Expediency Council expressed his ignorance about the price of this drug and said: "Mushroom" cannot be given a specific price because this drug does not have a fixed price due to its specific customers.

He called for the intervention of the guardian institutions in the matter of youth education and emphasized: We should not let time get lost and think of a solution after the market is provided with this article. This substance has very dangerous hallucinatory effects and its effect is not less if not more than that of glass.

As Safatian says, the level of awareness about hallucinogenic drugs is low in the country and education should be done throughout the country.

"Mushroom" is addictive

According to this addiction expert, all hallucinogenic substances are addictive, and mushrooms are no exception. Mushrooms, glass and LSD have no medical treatment and have severe psychological side effects.

He continues: Their non-drug treatment may last from 6 months to a year, and its side effects such as personality disorder, hallucinations, and anxiety are not treated. These people develop personality disorder from 3 to 4 years and lose control over their performance.

The strange perceptions of psychedelic users are hallucinations

Many times we have come across people who justify the use of psychedelics by saying "this substance helps us understand things that no one else can understand" or they say that glass and other such substances open the mind and allow them to think. Gives.

Shadlo, one of the psychiatrists of the National Center for Addiction Studies, emphasizes that all the strange perceptions resulting from the use of glass, mushrooms and LSD are illusions and cannot be imagined as a sign of reality.

He says: These substances have caused a disturbance in the senses and it is possible that the sound is received with the sense of sight, which we call the "modality" of the sense that, for example, the sound turns into an image, and there have been patients who claim to see the color of the sounds.

As this psychiatric fellowship says, in some cases perception in one sense leads to perception in another sense and empathy occurs.

In the definition of illusion, Shadlud says: When something does not exist externally and a person perceives it, we say that he is delusional. For example, there is no sound and he hears a sound or sees an image that no one sees. Of course, illusion has different forms.

He said about people who know that their thoughts are under the influence of drugs: this is called false hallucination because the person knows that his thoughts are under the influence of drugs and the person who has hallucinations has no awareness of his senses. The real illusion is that nothing exists externally.

Psychedelic Mushroom

"Magic mushroom" are names commonly given to mushrooms containing the psychoactive compound psilocybin or psilocin.

After consumption, psilocybin is converted into the active form of psilocin in the body.

There are several types of magic mushrooms, some of which grow wild in Ireland, usually in autumn.

Picking wild mushrooms is fraught with risks and there have been cases of poisoning following consumption of wild poisonous mushrooms that have been misidentified or mistaken for edible species in Ireland.

There are many species of mushrooms in Ireland, and many of the psilocybin-containing mushrooms are small brown or tan mushrooms that can be confused with a number of inedible, inedible or poisonous mushrooms in the wild. Some poisonous species can cause irreparable damage.

the power

The potency of mushrooms can depend on a number of factors such as the type or species used, their origin, growing conditions and age. Drying the magic mushroom reduces weight but not necessarily strength (power).

Appearance

Mushrooms are often sold raw or dried when sold. They may also come as capsules or liquid in vials (small bottles). It is made by extracting psilocybin, a natural psychoactive drug found in mushrooms such as the liberty cap, and is a pale light brown in color.

How to use them

They can be consumed raw, dried, cooked, stewed, brewed in tea, capsules or liquid. People don't like to eat fly agaric mushrooms raw because they can make you feel sick.

looks

Medicines can affect each person differently. Its effects depend on personal factors such as your physical and mental health, as well as the dose and strength of a substance. By using mushrooms, your current mood, mental health, and environment will influence its effects.

The effects and the duration of the effects also depend on the strength of the mushroom, which is difficult to predict.

The effects of magic mushrooms (and other psychedelic substances) can also be called a "trip".

Effects vary and begin about 60 minutes or so after taking them and can last for several hours. It depends on personal factors and the type of mushroom and how to consume it.

They can cause changes in perception, changes in color, sound and objects

Some people may feel euphoria, dizziness, uncontrollable laughter, energy, joy

They can speed up and slow down time and motion

Some people can feel relaxed, energized or creative

Some people may experience stomach upset and nausea

Sweating and high body temperature, often accompanied by chills and chills

Your experience depends on how you feel when you take them, so it can be a good or bad "good trip" or a "bad trip" that can cause panic reactions and psychotic states.

Impaired judgment during may lead to risky behaviors, traumatic injuries

Effects can cause anxiety, feelings of unreality, or depersonalization

Some people may find a bad trip difficult or experience a "crash" in the days after use. It is important to talk about how you feel

Long-term effects

Frequent use of mushrooms can affect perception and mood. It is important to rest between uses.

Other risks

• Fly agaric mushroom is different from Psychedelic Mushroom. They are more toxic, have less predictable effects with higher risks

• There are hundreds of types of mushrooms and some of them are very poisonous, so you can get poisoned by eating the wrong mushrooms.

• You can't be absolutely sure of how strong the mushrooms are. Potency depends on the species, origin, growing conditions and harvest period.

• Avoid magic mushrooms if you have anxiety or mental health concerns.

• For people with heart disease, short-term effects such as increased blood pressure and heart rate can be potentially harmful

• The environment you are in and who you are with can affect the effects.

• Use with other substances increases the risk of unpredictable effects

Tolerance

Repeated use can lead to tolerance, resulting in less effective medication with higher doses required.

psilocybin mushroom

How to use magic mushroom

1- Fresh use of psilocybin mushroom

The psilocybin fungus in spadogen is a natural plant, that is, it either grows from the ground or is cultivated from mycelium spores. Different species of psilocybin mushrooms grow and exist naturally all over the world. However, picking these mushrooms is dangerous. Because there are more than 10,000 known species of mushrooms, some of which are poisonous to humans. If you are not aware of the different types, species and dangers of different mushrooms, it is easy to confuse one mushroom with another and choosing one of them may put you in a coma, as opposed to a mushroom that makes you psychedelic.

2- Using dried magic mushroom

About 90% of mushrooms are water, so when they dry, they lose 90% of their mass. OK! This means that the same dose of magic mushroom in dried form weighs about 10 times less than the fresh dose.

Suggested study: What is flaka drugs?

Mushrooms rot quickly if kept moist, which destroys not only the mushroom itself, but also the psilocybin inside. So eating rotten magic mushrooms will never be fun. The danger with buying any kind of magic mushroom (fresh or dried) is that, unless you're an expert, you won't know exactly which species you've bought. Therefore, magic mushroom market is illegal in any country.

3- Use in powder form

Magic mushroom is also used in powder form in spadgen. That is, the capsule or the powder itself, this case also entails risks, for example, adding counterfeit substances to the powder, which greatly increases the risks of mixing substances of unknown origin, quality and quantity with pure psilocybin powder.

What are the effects of psilocybin mushrooms?

By using Psilocybin mushroom, besides experiencing changes in alertness, mood, and perception, people can also have a so-called psychedelic trip that lasts between 2 and 6 hours. The intensity of the trip is directly related to the doغیر مجاز می باشدe and strength of the mushrooms in terms of psilocybin content. There are even times when excessive consumption causes death.

Can magic mushroom (psilocybin mushroom) be used medically?

This mushroom has potential medical applications. Among other things, it can be highly effective in the treatment of diseases and mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, alcohol addiction and therapeutic applications such as counseling and even sadness and depression.

lung cancer symptoms

Lung cancer signs and symptoms
Most lung cancers do not cause any symptoms until they have spread, but some people with early lung cancer do have symptoms. If you see the first symptoms, go to the doctor, your cancer may be diagnosed in the early stages, when the treatment is more likely to be done.

Most of these symptoms are most likely caused by something other than lung cancer. However, if you have any of these problems, it's important to see your doctor right away to find out why and get treatment if needed.

People with lung cancer may have no symptoms in the early stages. The occurrence of lung cancer symptoms is different depending on which part of the lung it starts to spread and is somewhat similar to the diagnostic symptoms.
The most common symptoms of lung cancer are:
• Cough or bloody sputum that does not go away or gets worse.
• Chest pain that gets worse with thinking, coughing, or laughing
• Voice change and hoarseness
Insidious lung infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
• Swollen area of chest lymph nodes
• Loss of appetite and weight loss
• Excessive receipt
• Difficulty swallowing food
• Shortness of breath and wheezing
If the person is not treated, more severe symptoms occur, such as:
• Bone pain
• Changes in the nervous system (such as headache, weakness or numbness in an arm or leg, dizziness, problems or seizures) due to cancer spreading to the brain.
• Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice) due to the spread of cancer to fish.
• Swelling of lymph nodes (groups of cells of the immune system), such as the lymph nodes in the neck or above the collarbone.

What happens if you receive a diagnosis of lung cancer?

If the symptoms you notice and report to your doctor are from lung cancer, he or she has probably met with an oncologist who specializes in lung cancer treatment. They determine the type of lung cancer, stage and other factors that can create a personalized treatment plan. If you are within the Colorado area, the team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is here to guide you through every step of the process.

Lung cancer treatment

Lung cancer treatment is based on surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In advanced stages, new treatment approaches such as targeted therapies are also available. Which of the aforementioned treatment approaches are used individually or in combination depends on the patient's condition.

Patients with small cell carcinoma are usually at an advanced stage at the time of diagnosis. The tumor has often affected large areas of lung tissue and has already metastasized to other parts of the body. Complete removal of cancerous tissue with surgery is not possible in these cases. However, small cell tumors respond better to chemotherapy compared to non-small cell carcinomas.

In the treatment of non-small cell carcinomas in stages I and II, surgery is the first step. It is an opportunity for long-term recovery. In more advanced stages, chemotherapy and radiotherapy alone or in combination, possibly supplemented with surgery. If more distant metastases have already occurred, the chance of recovery is significantly reduced. Then the treatment is primarily aimed at preventing or slowing down the progression of the disease, relieving symptoms and maintaining quality of life.

Surgery to treat lung cancer

Surgery is usually the first treatment option for bronchial carcinoma, especially in early stages I and II. Depending on the size and spread of the tumor cells, however, surgery can still be performed at a later stage. The goal of this operation is to completely remove the tumor tissue as much as possible. During this procedure, the doctor also removes nearby lymph nodes to examine them in the laboratory. There are different surgical methods that depend on the extent and size of the tumor:

lung cancer

Lung cancer is the most common cancer in the world, often advanced by the time of diagnosis. Therefore, surgery is usually not possible and drug treatment, usually chemotherapy, is required. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer. About 10% to 15% of people with NSCLC have a special type of cancer known as epidermal growth factor receptor positive (+EGFR M) mutations, in which the cancer cells have changes in genes that control tumor growth. In this review, we examine new therapies targeting EGFR M+ NSCLC to understand how these therapies work.

Goals

The aim of this review was to find out whether people receiving EGFR M+ NSCLC-targeted therapies had longer survival and better health-related quality of life than people receiving standard chemotherapy.

Features of the trial

We found 22 trials that compared five different EGFR-targeted drugs with standard chemotherapy: erlotinib, gefitinib, afatinib, icotinib, and the antibody cetuximab. We included trials that published results by 27 July 2020.

Results

Our results showed that people who received erlotinib, gefitinib, afatinib, or icotinib had a longer time before cancer progression and had fewer side effects than people who received standard chemotherapy. However, we are not sure whether people who received erlotinib, afatinib or icotinib lived longer than people who received standard chemotherapy.

Definitive treatment of lung cancer through surgery

Surgical treatment is performed for cancer that is still in its early stages and has not become advanced. In fact, the purpose of surgery is to remove small malignant cells that have not yet spread to other areas. In this method, the tumor is surgically removed. If the lymph nodes in the breast are also involved, the lymph nodes will also be removed. This operation is performed under general anesthesia. In this operation, only the damaged lung tissue is removed. Before performing this operation, the specialist doctor estimates whether the rest of the healthy lung has the ability to perform the breathing process or not. If the answer is negative, this treatment method will not be suitable for the patient. In this procedure, the doctor cuts open the patient's chest to access the lump or tumor.

Treatment of lung cancer by chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the use of chemical drugs orally or by injection. Chemotherapy is a method to treat all types of cancer. In this method, malignant cells are completely destroyed or their growth is prevented. With this method, cancer can be completely or partially treated. If the lung cancer is in the early stages and it is not possible to remove the tumor through surgery, this treatment method is used. The use of chemical drugs leads to side effects such as nausea and vomiting, skin damage, hair loss, fatigue, anemia, numbness or numbness of body parts, etc.
